I just joined this Board to report the same problem.
Without wishing for a permaban this early on, could it be down to the random Game* I chose to play. Or to put a line on it which Games are know to run fairly well on Dolphin at the moment. *The random Game in question was a Game Cube Game. which had some graphical issues. (i.e. Missing external Buildings), but the lack of any sound at all was more depressing. But, this said that this Emu even runs that well on the Shield TV at all is very impressive indeed. 02-08-2017, 05:03 PM

I'm running 5.0-2417 on the new Nvidia Shield and have yet to hear sound :/
The Vulkan graphics engine is working like a charm though... Does anybody know how much effort is being put into Android versions? I wish I could help, but unfortunately I dont have the skills required...
Sound is working fine here. Which audio backend is selected in the ini? The default one should be fine. (-> don't just copy all of your ini files from the desktop, they may have wrong configs)

(-> don't just copy all of your ini files from the desktop, they may have wrong configs) Hi Degasus, First of all, Thanks for developing on the Android version!!! I did a fresh install yesterday on my Nvidia Shield(4k version) with build 5.0-2365 and did not change the audiosettings in the ini file(I didnt know that it was a possibility). So everything should be as standard as possible. Best regards 02-09-2017, 05:48 AM

Edit Reason: Found the answer
)
I too am having this no sound issue.
I upgraded my Axon 7 phone from Android 6 to 7 yesterday, installed a newer daily version of Dolphin and found that the sound wasn't working. I tried a few older versions and no luck. I then poked around in the Dolphin.ini file and found these settings: [DSP] EnableJIT = True DumpAudio = False DumpAudioSilent = False DumpUCode = False Backend = No audio output Volume = 100 CaptureLog = False The "No audio output" seems to be an obvious reason why sound wouldn't work, but as someone who doesn't really know a whole lot about emulators other than installing them, I don't know what to change this to. I found a couple of options for the desktop version of Dolphin, but I plugged those in and it's still not working. I'm going to try some other older versions to see if it works in those, but ultimately I have faith that you'll figure it out... as others have said, thank you so much for working on the Android port! edit: Sure enough, that was the issue. I installed an older version to find the proper Backend and found that it's OpenSLES. I uninstalled, reinstalled the latest daily and put that in place of the "No audio output" and sound works once again. 02-09-2017, 06:43 AM
Indeed, the problem was that the wrong value was being set in the INI. The problem has been fixed in 5.0-2441, but if the value in your INI already has been set to "No audio output", you will need to change it to the correct value manually (or delete the INI, which will make Dolphin re-generate it with the correct value).
