No SoAL Hack?

Hello! I've been trying to play Skies of Arcadia Legends, with R 5271. I'm on Windows 7 x64, 8GGB DDR2, Q6600 OC'd @ 3.3GHz, GTX280. I know that doesn't matter for this problem but i'd put it out there anyway.

ANYWAY. With the OpenGL plugin, I know that a certain hack is required for missing textures(And man theres a lot of missing textures without it!), but it doesn't seem to be in the OpenGL Config. Wut? :O Any help is appreciated!

It was removed, it's now obsolete. Missing textures is probably another issue that was unrelated to the problem the hack fixed. Hacks were also likely removed because other projection hacks fix the same problem the SoA hack fixed so try using another one of the projections hacks.

The Zelda: TP hack is known to fix other games such as Sonic and Secret of the Rings, Sonic and the Black Knight, and Sonic Unleashed so try another hack as I mentioned.

I saw screen shots of what the game looked like in a post months ago before the hack was removed, and it's identical. Regardless of Direct3D9, or OpenGL. I tried all 3 hacks and the problem persists, on both video plugins.

Just to further clarify, the 3 hacks available (Zelda, Bleach, Sonic) cause side-effects. Zelda/Sonic cause no text of any kind(yet the text is actually there because i can hear the sound when it scrolls), and Bleach causes there to be nothing on the title screen except the sky box, and ...no ships of any kind in the opening sequence.

Then it's probably not a problem that the hack fixed and is a rendering bug with the plugins. If it's a texture issue, the safe texture cache might fix that.

If a developer says it's obsolete, then it must be obsolete. If not, I don't think they would remove it without good reason. Also the less hacks the better as it means they are finally striving towards more accurate emulation now. I'm more than willing to believe it's obsolete since that's what was provided as a description in regards to removal of the hack

I personally see this as a godsend that hacks are now being removed in preparation for accurate emulation. If it means causing issues for a few games for a while, it doesn't matter to me since I'm patient and the benefits in the end will be well worth it. Hacks usually tend to cause more issues than they fix, so it's nice to finally see some initiative in regards to accuracy and improving the emulator.

I agree! The twilight princess hack fixed the textures, but text is nowhere to be seen. There's always a catch. >.> Anyone know a fix for this?

Have you tried the safe texture cache, usually that has fixed problems with missing text and other texture related problems for several games.

I did. It still has missing text. The text windows don't even show up. With the TWP hack, the textures are replaced, yet no text. Without the hack (and with Safe Texture Cache), textures are messed, but there is text. No middle ground, tried it with a newer revision and it doesn't work either.

Sound is also messed up, it seems like some parts of the music aren't playing. Just putting that out there.
