No response from controller

Hi guys, first time using Dolphin, and i'm playing Twilight Princess. I'm using an Xbox One controller, and it has been working wonderfully. However, just now, about 7 hours into the game, the rom isn't responding to any input. I tried switching back to a keyboard and no response there either. This is probably just an issue with the rom, but is there a workaround from a problem like this?

Seeing no reply, would a different rom work with the same save file?

The save file will work on all discs that are for the same region (and in Twilight Princess's case, also for the same console). There may or may not be a way to convert save files between regions/consoles.
