Right now I feel like I want to jump off a cliff or something.

This night was the worst ever.

I couldn't sleep and was relaxing with some Rocky movies that I watched on the PS3.
23:45 the first blackout came and everything in the house and around the block went black, and my first thought "GREAT..."

After a minute the power came back and I started the PS3 as usual only to discover that it wanted to do a file/hdd check/restore, OK fine by me I said to myself.
Started watching the movie again and 00:10 another blackout and another file/hdd check/restore that went up to 99% and then right as it was about to finish yet another blackout.
And it specifically says DO NOT TURN THE POWER OFF during this check/restore.

After that everything was F***** UP and out of control after that.
I said to myself F*** this shit I'm turning in for the night.

This morning I had no other option to boot in safe mode and restore the PS3 which means format the HDD and restore default settings meaning EVERYTHING was lost.
No trophies, no achievements, no save games. Over 400+ hours of hard work is lost forever where the Fallout games stands for half of that time.

What good is it to me that my PS3 is restored when I have to replay every single F****** game.

I'm sorry guys but I have to to it:

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Damn, that sucks man.
You could've (maybe) fixed this by booting in restore mode and then letting it restore your harddrive.
You wouldn't have lost your stuff then.

Trophies and achievements are saved on your SEN (Sony Entertainment Network, yes, gotta get used to the new name) account.

Yeah you're right, I should have taken a sleeping pill instead and woke up trouble free.
But it's hard being hindsight and psychic.
I might be angry right now but I will get over it eventually.

Heck it might just have been what I needed since I spent a lot of time playing recently. It's a sunny day today might as well take a walk for a change.

Actually I don't have an ONLINE account so i don't really know how that works, but all the trophies/achievements that was tied to my past OFFLINE account is gone.
It's sad that you can't backup all this stuff to a simple flashdrive really. And I know that not all games have saves that can be backed up to a flashdrive either.

As it turns out I have only one save game for Castlevania: Lords of Shadows back from way back ugh.
I have never been good making backups for the PS3 really.

I wonder if you can sue or ask for compensation from power companies when stuff like this happens, i've had a couple of times when the power comes back on after a blackout and it short circuits some electrical appliance, i've always just shrugged this off and gotten another one but sometimes i really wonder if you can go in there and shout " HEY, YOU ASSHOLES, THE POWER CAME BACK TOO STRONG AND SHORT- CIRCUITED MY ELECTRIC TOOTHBRUSH, I DEMAND COMPENSATION FOR A NEW ONE", just think about it, what if the ps3 got short circuited, what would one do, someone must get me a new PS3!!
......?????

Yeah it's hard to know what these blackouts can cause, for all I know I might have been lucky that I could restore it properly without a hitch. It's not fun if it got bricked or something.
If that happen I guess I just have had to get a new one, I bought this slim one in 2010 which was a demo one for showing and I'm not even sure there's any warranty left.

I have learned a lesson now anyway.

As for the Fallout games, there's always those exploits to get you back to max level really fast, as for the other games they're done in a few hours.

Wow I'm starting to feel better already...

It's easier said then done when I have no option to connect the PS3 to the Internet.
But yeah I know that could have saved me a lot of trouble, I'll keep it as a reminder once I get the chance in the future.

For now I'm just happy nothing serious happened.
