Since a few weeks, in the latter dev builds, there is no more notification of loading of custom textures when you start a game. I found these notifications pretty useful to be sure everything works fine on the setup with custom textures. Is there a way or a setting to bring back these notifications when you launch a game ? Thanks so much.
No more message about custom textures loaded

Yes, the notification was removed due to it not making any sense any more in the redesigned system. An alternative was considered but I would need to give it more thought.
It should be pretty obvious to know if custom textures are working. However, it's possible in the future I might see if there's an alternative way to get similar functionality through some sort of window that lists loaded textures. 07-20-2023, 12:20 AM
I would also like for these messages to return. I always found it interesting to see how long it took to load the textures and how much ram they occupy.
Sorry for any grammar mistakes. English is not my mother tongue.

The best we could do is displaying a list or a count of the textures loaded (ram size too). ----- More generally, I feel like people used this to determine whether the textures were installed correctly. That seems like a klunky design. The package itself should be visible without requiring a "loaded" message. 07-20-2023, 02:32 AM

However, I've encountered some difficulty using it to dump missing textures into an existing texture pack. For instance, Dolphin persists in dumping textures that are already present in the Load\Textures folders if they take too long to load. Please let me know if there is something I can do to prevent this. Due to this issue, I am still relying on version 5.0-19582. Please see this change, it should fix your issue. (07-20-2023, 02:32 AM)JosJuice Wrote: It isn't always. Especially not if you've made the mistake of keeping the resolution at 1x IR. True. I'm too used to playing at 4k . I suppose I'll start mulling over some potential options. 07-22-2023, 11:27 AM
As for the original comment. After seeing this problem again on Discord, I had the idea that for debugging purposes, users don't need to know when everything is loaded. Instead, they just need to know that their pack was installed properly. In the future, I might implement a more intelligent system but this is my response to quickly address the issue: https://github.com/dolphin-emu/dolphin/pull/12062 .
