Typing this on a Wii, unstable wi-fi, sorry in advance for brevity.
Dolphin used to work JUST FINE so I doubt this is a CPU issue. Then one day, games wouldn't boot. Split-second of "booting" window then nothing. Noticed that clicking Pad or Wiimote setup caused a crash. No Dolphin error desc, just the generic WinXP program crash. Tried all options to no avail. Also noticed that in Config, there are no selections available for Pad or Wiimote plugin even though I have the dll files.
I can't recall making any system changes around the time this started. Was rev 3089, recently got 5039, same problem. I am NOT trying to connect a gamepad or remote to the computer; just using a keyboard.
I looked around the forum, saw in the Getting Started thread that the Direct3D update will fix "plugin errors" and it also had links to the VC++8 runtimes. A couple other threads with similar problems had similar answers.
BUT because I have such limited net access, I can't just go downloading and trying things. So I wanted to be specific about the problem (more details upon request!) and see if anyone knows if the Direct3D update, or whatever else, will DEFINITELY work.
Crashed 4 times while typing this. Thank you so much-a for to reading and helping!
