Nintendo Wiimote not connecting

I'm trying to connect a Wiimote to my laptop (specs in my profile). However, my computer doesn't seem to recognize the Wiimote as a valid thing to pair. I've tried restarting my computer, to no avail. The wiimote seems to be an official Nintendo release, however I did get it off eBay so I'm not 100% sure on that front. I've tried connecting directly to Dolphin, also to no avail. Any ideas of things I can try?
