I got a GC Hori pad when Smash 4 was released, and even the quality was correct, official controllers were still much better : softer buttons, softer and more precise analog stick. As a competitive player, I came back to the official one very rapidly.
I have something called a Wired Fight Pad Pro from PDP. Not made directly by Nintendo, but it's officially licensed at least. Doesn't have the same weight as the original GC controllers (lack of rumble probably plays a big part in that). It definitely has a different feel to it compared to a real GC controller, but it's fine for me. I actually bought for multiplayer stuff with my sister, but I ended up using it as my go-to controller since it feels pretty nice.

Well, to be fair to you, I wasn't exactly talking about GC controllers from Nintendo. 3rd-party stuff is what I meant, since Nintendo hasn't officially offered a new GC controller for the Switch (I think?)
