I loved the Direct! I love that they kept the roaming feature that was in Let's Go for at least the Wild Area. Plus freely rotating the camera is something I didn't even know I needed.
Nintendo Switch

It's about time Nintendo! Finally, a mainline Pokémon title for consoles in HD.
I don't care for the rest that could be said about Pokémon anymore. I'm already satisfied. 06-06-2019, 10:09 PM
I'm gonna pick Shield.
Dynamax was unexpected from me, looks fun. Artists on internet are already making a ton of stuff about it.
From France with love.

Yes, thats precisely what i mean. I grew up with the super nintendo and the gamecube was the last good console for me personally. I lost it after the nunchuck, wiimote and sensor bar madness. I wish nintendo would go back to the good old way of designing consoles. But im not going to complain, i love my emulators. 06-09-2019, 07:04 PM

To be honest, the switch almost feels like a classic console. The pro controller is great, the switch OS is very fast and game-focused, and performance, while restricted by a mobile CPU/GPU, is decent in docked mode on a HD TV. You can leave it docked if you want and use it as a home console.

I havent really had time to try out the switch, im most likely going to go with a device that can play emulators on my tv instead.
Ok folks. It is that time of the year again without 5 hours. It's going to last for 40 minutes. It's probably exclusively focusing on the Nintendo Switch this year. Cast your predictions here.
I'll start. Extremely Likely
Reasonable
Hopes & Dreams
Anything I would have missed?
I don't have any particular expectations for this direct. I'm just gonna watch it and if it's boring, it's fine, this E3 was already boring anyways.
Hm, another Zelda should be in development, right ? Edit : come to think of it, a new Mario Strickers would be nice.

Yeah, Nintendo was recruiting for their next 3D Major Zelda a while ago. So that's a given. It's just probably a bit too soon to reveal it. Sadly, it was boring yes. Except for Cyberpunk 2077. Even while there is no new substantial gameplay footage, I remain excited for the Triple A game in an era where you are being nickel and dimed out of all your savings for these so-called micro-transactions (really... prices can be ludicrous). Not to mention that Triple A games love to hold your hand, pad out the playing time with unnecessary content and grinding and remind you of political and social situations (really... Watch_Dogs: Legion...). It's not all that bad and I likely still purchase most of the Triple A games eventually in time (Steam sales are your best friend). I just don't prefer these "standards". I... Just... Want... To... Play... Games... No more cinematics please... So many cinematics that don't even motivate me in the slightest. It's just fancy graphics. That's all. Are they so inconfident to show gameplay? Ohh before I forget, Age of Empires II is having a complete remaster / remake, similarly to Age of Empires I. So that's definitely something to get excited about. It's just a shame E3 showed so little of it. Well, it will be coming soon. I'm satisfied already. And Ori. Ori and the Will of the Wisps. Again, it's a shame it was only shown briefly, but Ori and the Will of the Wisps has me completely excited. Just try out Ori and the Blind Forest and you know why I am so incredibly excited about it. My hope lies with Nintendo. At least they have always been traditional for the most part. Just a good old simple game. Nothing more, nothing less. Ya know, something like Zelda, Mario, Yoshi, Kirby or Smash. Luigi's Mansion, Smash and Link's Re-Awakening are basically confirmed to be shown, so Nintendo can't really go much wrong with this presentation. Besides, the Pokémon presentation was just awesome. At least I am confident that Nintendo will show us actual gameplay footage rather than just cinematic trailers. Or so I hope. Gameplay trailers are fine through, I will still be able to judge the gameplay from it. Ohh yeah. One more thing. That exclusive Switch JRPG Octopath Traveler has been released for Windows on Steam. Maybe I should pick it up. I heard it was quite critically acclaimed on the Switch. Yeah... I still need to purchase a Switch. I aim for next year hopefully. I think I wait for the rumored model upgrade. A larger 1080p screen with a bit more power would be nice. I would really like not to purchase my Switch twice. Turned out I was wise enough to wait with the 3DS as well since it got a CPU upgrade. By now it is well aware Nintendo tends to upgrade all their hardware with some revisions.
Ohh man... I never expected it.
- Banjo-Kazooie to Smash (I couldn't care any less for that Dragon Quest fighter...) - The sequel to Breath of the Wild. Perhaps a hint towards something Majora's Mask-like? On top of Link's Re-Awakening. Speaking of. - Being able to model a dungeon in Link's Re-Awakening. The soundtrack actually sounded quite good. I am a bit afraid that the Eagle Tower boss was a bit to much on the happy side. The original could be somewhat dark. This I did of course. - Fire Emblem! - Luigi's Mansion! Shame that there was no new Paper Mario or a new Mario & Luigi RPG... Well... Turned out... No Wii U port either. |
