It was also my first impression, but Smash 4 realeased ~1.2 years after its announcement. If the release date is Christmas it would be 9 months, it's not that small. Since 2014 they got plenty of time working on it. Plus, instead of all Smash releases, the technical and content gap is not huge this time, Smash 4 is already a solid base for an HD Smash game. I just want a better Solo.
It got me off-guard since I was expecting a Smash announcement at E3.
