As we age, our reaction times get longer. Basically, if we're older than 15, we don't have the twitch skills to handle it

Take Mario Kart.
Was thinking the same thing after I made my previous post. MK games are very incremental these days. MK8 is a lot like MK Wii + MK7. They took the bikes from MK Wii, gliders and underwater racing from MK7. The coins have been there since Super MK on the SNES (although it doesn't show up in half the MK games). And of course, they recycle tracks from every other MK game ever made, just with modern updates. Newest/biggest addition was anti-gravity sections. That's cool, but not earth-shattering or even a game changer.
Same can be said of Sm4sh. Granted, it's not NIntendo EAD making it or anything, but it still needs Nintendo's stamp of approval. Anyway, just felt like an update on roster/stages with tweaks to gameplay to eliminate some of the flaws from Brawl. But other than that, it was incremental, not revolutionary like from Smash 64 -> Melee.
