Funny you should mention that. Me and my sis were talking about that the other day. But MS is probably too stingy to ever let that happen. They'd rather let that IP die, it seems.
You know how much money I'd pay to have an HD remake of Banjo-Kazooie + Banjo-Tooie on the Switch? Just keep the engine the same, update the graphics (better models, textures, 60FPS), update the music (don't change too much, just get past the N64's audio limitations, i.e. make it CD quality), and I'd buy it, maybe even twice. But that'll never happen...
Ya know, I feel exactly like that. Sadly, even since Microsoft took over Rareware (I always knew them as Rareware rather than Rare) Banjo essentially died out, and the Collect-A-Thon platformer as well. I was really glad when last year A Hat in Time turned out to be a success. Sadly Yooka-Laylee went on to become a failure. If both Banjo games comes remastered to the Nintendo Switching, buying one would be even less of an one-brainer. Even better, throw in Donkey Kong 64 HD in as well. (Note: I will still buy the Switch, eventually, just waiting patiently for new titles)
As for new Smash characters, anything but Fire Emblem. There are already way too many anime characters. How about Geno from the Super Mario RPG? 09-08-2018, 03:01 AM
There's two big problems that prevents RareWare coming back on Nintendo Machines :
> Microsoft > Miyamoto Personally, I don't care since I don't like Rare games except Goldeneye, but I understand other people would like them to come back.
From France with love.

Well, Geno (and probably Mallow as well) character copyright belongs to Square Enix, as I shockingly discovered in the end credits of Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga. But we have Cloud in SSB4 and now SSB Ultimate, there's some (little) hope...

All things Donkey Kong are owned entirely by Nintendo.

Miyamoto most likely have something to do about Nintendo letting go Rare to Microsoft so easily. He didn't like DKC SNES games, and saw Banjo, DK64 and DKR as redundant games (if not pale copies) since SM64 and MK64 were already out, on a system where diversity was needed at the time. Some says it's because of jealousy. Nintendo also didn't approve the Conker Bad Fur Day project.
