Nintendo pro switch controller no longer working

so my nintendo switch pro controller no longer works with dolphin. despite being recognized as an input by dolphin, i can no longer map the buttons. i tried betterjoy, which half fixed the issue, but wouldn't recognize the joysticks. i'm actually having the same issue with this controller with desmume, which makes me think the controller is the issue? pic is what dolphin has always recognized switch pro controller as (dinput/0/wireless gamepad)

Have you tried clicking on "Refresh" button in Dolphin?

...yeah i tried that multiple times.... also tried reconnecting the controller multiple times.
