The last updated N64 emulator i saw was project 64 and came with some "surprises" like vírus in their installer. There is some other N64 emulator being updated and with good compatibility?
My specs:
Operating System: Windows 10 x64
Processor/CPU: intel I7 3770 3.4 Ghz
Video Card/GPU: Nvidia GeForce 1060 6GB
Memory/RAM: 16 GB
Dolphin Revision Currently Using: 5.0-xxxx X64 (always the latest) and the latest Ishiiruka for custom textures.

I'm still learning english. Please, be patient with me. And, if i make a mistake, please correct me, i will learn a lot this way!  Big Grin

Project64 is currently at version 2.3. Did they not remove the "virus" crap a while ago with the V2.3 installer? You could always download the binary files instead of downloading an installer. The issue with the "virus" was just present in the installer. Althrough the malware has been removed other annoyances were introduced instead such as a pop-up screen telling (demands in fact) you to donate. Just open your Project64.cfg file and add the following line to disable the donate advertise:

Code:
[Support Project64]
Run Count=-1

Project64 seems to count the amount of times you start the emulator, and by doing so it will make the pop-ups more severe up to a point where you can not boot a game anymore. I miss those good old times with Project64 V1.6.

Unless you download it on a suspicious site or you were trying to pirate Project64 1.7.0 version which is not free . There is no virus in Project64 and people are still working on it

Or if you have an Android phone then Mega64 is a good alternative , it's the fastest N64 Emu

Or... you could use the virtual console of Dolphin... As long those N64 games are available for it.

Super Mario 64, Paper Mario, Mario Kart 64, Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, Super Smash Bros. These are just examples of N64 games available on the virtual console. If it is titles such as Donkey Kong 64 you are looking for then you are out of luck as you will need a Nintendo 64 emulator for it. Keep in mind that the virtual console of the Wii is not an actual Nintendo 64. It is just that Dolphin emulates the virtual console better (Dolphin emulates an emulator) than that Project64 emulates the Nintendo 64.

The adware in the installer (technically not a virus, but pretty bad regardless...) should be gone in the newest version. But instead, there's a screen that can get displayed at startup that nags you to donate.

Actually, that pop-up screen can be disabled.

Well, N64 emulation is not "dead", we made good progress recently, but it's kinda complicated for the average user and I see why you say that.

Thanks to LuigiBlood, the 64DD is now well emulated, and the new GlideN64 plugin made a BIG step forward for N64 graphics emulation, and is more or less stable now.

Now comes emulators part.
Mupen64plus does a fantastic job. Cen64 is under development and is a cycle accurate emulator, which is really, really cool.
But the first one is a command line software, and the other needs a really strong PC and is still experimental. So they're not recommended for the average user.

Aaaand there's Project64.
Even if it's now open-source, Zilmar still have a dictator behavior over the repository. It's his right after all, but... meh.
PJ64 1.6 still kick ass but is old. PJ64 2.2 was good, I guess. The 2.3 is a bit weird because it was released while it still have some bugs and regressions unfixed. I can easily crash it.

Also, for some reasons, all versions of Project64 have a timing bug on my PC that causes the game to hang every second. It's almost imperceptible but it's annoying because I can hear audio cracking and I can see the frozen frame.

And that's all, there's no other actively developed N64 emulator for PC afaik.

I also use Dolphin when I can for N64 games because it's way smoother.
From France with love.

Thanks for the reply of all! First i've used the "?" on title of this post because i wanted to know the progress of N64 emulation. Based on your comments i saw there still a lot of work to make an updated and good N64 emulator. I've used dolphin to play some N64 games like SUper Mario 64, Mario kart 64, paper mario and Yoshi story and they worked pretty well. But some games like 1080 snowboard and zelda Majora's mask have huge problems. Actually it crashes often. There is some workaround about the crashes?

Yeah... The Virtual Console version of Majora's Mask still does not work great within Dolphin. Through, you could use the Collector's Edition instead for Majora's Mask if you own it which is emulated perfectly.
