As of R6088, you can load more games from this collection!

About the game

Quote:Sonic Gems Collection is a compilation of some of the more obscure titles from the Sonic the Hedgehog video game series; Sonic CD, Sonic the Fighters and Sonic R. It also included the two Vectorman games, whilst the Japanese version also featured the Streets of Rage trilogy and the Sega Classics Collection version of Bonanza Bros.. It was released for the Nintendo GameCube and PlayStation 2 in Japan on August 11, 2005 and in Europe on September 30, 2005. In North America, only the GameCube version was released on August 16, 2005. (wikipedia)

Emulation Status & Speed (Dolphin r6090)
    What works:
  • Sonic R (loading and exiting)
  • All the Genesis/Gamegear games
  • Sonic CD (loading only)

    What does not work:
  • Sonic the Fighters (hangs upon loading the game)
  • Sonic CD (exiting, emulator closes after saving the setting data to return to the game selection screen)

    Emulation Speed
  • All games work with full speed for the moment, no problems detected (except for the title screen in Sonic CD with vsync enabled, which limits the framerate to 30, but only for the title screen)

Additional Information

I created an issue pertaining to the things that don't work correctly that's preventing this game from being "perfect" with 5 stars. You can follow up here:

I doubt Sonic the Fighters will be fixed anytime soon, since the game might use different opcodes that are unique to the game (the PS2 version has trouble with the game's graphics, but at least pcsx2 was able to load the game at all). I have no idea what's going on with Sonic CD's exit, but you can exit out of Sonic R just fine.

Graphics look great, nothing looks out of place (except with the widescreen hack and Sonic R of course). Other than that, it's very close to being perfect!
