I tested NFS Underground 2 on 2 smartphones:
- Redmi Note 9 Pro (Snapdragon 720G, Adreno 618) test:
Game runs well but crashes every 2-3 minutes. The random crashes can be fixed by setting CPU Clock Speed to 60% and/or disabling Skip EFB access from CPU hack. The game runs identically on both new and old builds.
- Honor 8 (Kirin 950, Mali T880MP4) test:
Game runs a bit faster on old builds (before 5.0-6100). At first minutes of driving it runs quite good (15-20fps) like on Snapdragon 660, but after driven half a mile, the FPS suddenly drops to 2-3. The phone's battery becomes hot, and even the phone sometimes turns off at 20-30% battery level. When running that game on new builds, it runs like a slideshow when leaving the garage (2-3fps), and heats up the phone.
What's the reason of:
1) crashes when playing without underclock on RN9pro
2) slowdowns when playing more than 1-2 minutes on Honor 8
3) fast battery drain on Honor 8 (after 2-3 miles of driving across Bayview = 35% down)
