Is it at all possible to add NFS share support under Android a la Kodi? I have my files stored on an NFS share but would like to try out dolphin on my nvidia shield android TV. I have uploaded a few smaller titles to my /sdcard folder on the shield, but do not have an external hard disk to try my other files. I suppose I can try to root the console, but don't really want to go down that route if I can help it....

Thanks.

Some file managers offer the ability to mount network drives.  With the right configuration you should be able to make it work

If this even works, you'll need to make sure that latency and bandwidth are good. Especially latency.

Ah that shouldn't be an issue.  These file managers aren't capable of streaming,  they'll download the full file before executing.  Or the full rom in this case.

What's the point then? Why not just store the file locally in that case?

I think he wants a network server to keep the files up to date.  That's how I interpret it.

He stated that he transferred some small games to the SD Card and said he don't own an external hard drive, so, space is a concern here and thus I interpreted his request as something he could use to stream the files because of low storage space...

Well I think he meant external hard drive for the shield,  not the network.  Using network mounted storage would mean the files are only temporarily stored on the device,  as the file manager is designed to behave that way.  That's my understanding.

I did actually want to use a network share as storage but looks like it is not possible? No choice but to try an external HDD.

Android did just miss to use FUSE more, so there wouldn't be such a need... But for dolphin, this is no android feature request. If the desktop version support this, the android port will likely also do.
