Although, I suppose you create a custom rom with the right drivers, assuming there is a 64-bit Android driver with OpenGL support somewhere else. Can you point to the ARMv7 / AArch64 linux drivers? There is something mentioned about AEP, which may not have been in that build used on GLBenchmark https://developer.nvidia.com/content/and...-k1-64-bit 10-24-2014, 01:03 PM

No doubt it will run Dolphin much better than Mipad but no expandable storage kill the point of getting it . It's overpriced and quite thick
Come on Google ! You're not Apple ! Did you think we would buy your tablet at that price range ? I would rather get an ipad Air 2 for the same price... Laptop: Mini PC :: 10-26-2014, 09:03 AM

The whole thing smells of apple. Locking out the GL 4.4 context was clearly a move to prompt the AEP instead of regular GL, which is uncharacteristic for Google. Plus the price/product ratio here is much lower than usual (although j expect the huikd quality is top notch for the money). I'm sure the tablet is plenty fast, but as you said it has no expandable memory (which is better than being stuck with 32GB) and its definitely not packing a ton of new features that justify it. 10-26-2014, 09:45 AM
You say it's uncharacteristic of Google.
Remember that they blocked OpenCL usage for pushing Renderscript usage. Also remember them blocking APNG adoption in Chrome to instead push WebM and WebP. I say they are doing what they always do. 10-26-2014, 09:59 AM

I'm trying really to give the google the benefit of the doubt here, but it seems they love burning me for it. No point in defending them it seems. They are just as bad as the apple they pretend to be better than. 10-26-2014, 11:14 AM
Samsung is pretty bad too. Their overlay slows down their devices and while some of it's features are nice most aren't really needed.

That's an entire different kind of gimping. Google is fundementally restricted features present on the hardware. Samsung is just implementing features in a poor bloated manner. Two very different issues. |
