In case anyone is in the market for a Dolphin-friendly sensor bar, I wanted to warn that this particular model is shit:

It's got fewer LEDs, they're not arranged in the same way, and they're completely wonky in their brightness. The remote can't read it clearly unless it's positioned at the same height- and not at any sort of angle at all- which in my case limited it to below-TV only. It doesn't even fit the Nintendo stand; it has the holes, they're just not in the right spots.

I'm really upset I spent $20 on this piece of shit, knowing it probably cost $0.40 to make. If you really want a USB bar, mod one yourself. Even if you screw up, you can buy a few more Nintendo bars until you get it right and still pay less (while getting better quality).

I was going to purchase this bar myself. I then followed a link I found on thread here to Tmart.com that sold a USB powered Wii bar for like $5. There are like 18 reviews all praising how great the thing worked and pictures showing the bar light up and such.

So I ordered the $5 one from Tmart.com and I got it today. Well I plugged the thing into like 5 different PC's that were all on a nothing ever came on. No lights, nothing. Going to try it in the laptop I have Dolphin on for the wife to see if it works but I got a feeling it won't. I'm trying to figure out if I just got a dud or if there isn't enough power going to it? Maybe plugging the USB into an adapter that plugs into an electrical outlet (like one for a phone charger) might give me a better indication if this thing is just a dud or not? Kinda bumbed cause the wife was so looking forward to playing Mario party with the real Wii remote on her laptop.

As the lights are infra red LEDs, you won't be able to see them normally. To see if the bar lights up, take a photo of it with your phone's camera. You'll be able to see the lights on the bar in the photo.
