Hey everyone, I'm experiencing a problem with my Dolphin v. 5.0.
I'm getting this error saying that it won't let me run the emulator because I need to install a certain .dll file.

The program can't start because api-ms-win-crt-runtimel1-1-0.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.

I've even tried reinstalling the .dll and it says that the installation was successful, but when I tried running the emulator again, nothing happens...
I'm only playing Melee on my Dolphin 4.0.2 emulator, which for some reason still works. I'm also getting frame drops from playing that game on it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Manually installing dlls can break your computer. Remove them if you can. Both versions require this https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145
but the stable should install it.

Can you clarify what you mean by "reinstalling the .dll"?

They both just tell me that the same version of this package is installed already.

As in I go to Microsoft's website and download vc_redistx64 which should contain the missing .dll.

Then your Windows install is probably broken or something. Sorry, I can't think of anything other than reinstalling the operating system.

The last time I updated my PC with the Windows Update was last year.

Yeah, Windows Update is always worth a try for this problem.
