Hey! I've been trying to get the Dolphin netplay build started so I can play some Project M online, but to no avail. Each time I run the netplay builds, they fail to launch. I see the process appear in in the task manager, but it uses a very small amount of resources before disappearing. I'm able to run the newest version of dolphin without netplay (4.0-4800), and the newest build with netplay I could get running was 4.0-262, switching over to 4.0-407 or anything newer gives me the same problems. I've ran it as administator as I heard this was a common fix for most problems but it didn't do anything.

Here's my computer build.

The OS is Windows 7 64 bit.

Any ideas on how to get this working?

Most of the important features of the netplay branch have been implemented into the master branch, and technically, because it's a branch, the netplay branch isn't supported here.

Wait, so I can just use the normal dolphin emulator? It has the netplay features built into it? Wow, I'm dumb, I can't believe I didn't piece it together when I noticed that it hadn't been updated in a year and couldn't find an actual link to the netplay branch on the site lol. Thanks a lot though!

Quick Edit:

After literally 2 seconds of launching 4.0-4800 I have found the feature. Thanks again, I'm a moron

Well, turns out 4.0-652 is the standard for Porject M so I might just be outta luck, thanks anyways! At least the x86 version seems to run.

The only reason it's a standard is because the Smash crowd tend not to pay attention to things. Quite a lot of people asking for help with stuff (especially those who come to the Dolphin subreddit I run) are using the netplay build because someone somewhere told them that it's the latest version, so if you can convert people, even if it's just the one person you play with most regularly, it's going to help.

there's a really good reason to use the DC-netplay builds. Wii NAND disabled + UDP-Net. They're not blind to the changes; we just haven't made some that they need for a large community to move.

Yeah, as a fellow redditor, subreddits were the first place I checked (/r/SSBPM, /r/Smashbros and /r/DolhpinEmulator) but wasn't able to find any threads regarding my specific issue. I was hoping to get the netplay build working so I could play with more people through Anther's Ladder. The x86 of the netplay build works at least, and I can use normal Dolhpin for when I want to face my friends.
