Hello people, I just got round to upgrading my computer with a new graphics card, SSD and PSU!
And since I have had to put away most of my older consoles into storage, I have been looking into doing some emulation with only my Gamecube games.
So, with the hardware I got do you think I can at least do some decent emulation? Thanks in advance to anyone who helps a noob like me.

Sorry, current AMD CPUs have awful per-core performance, which is critical for Dolphin. Having 8 cores doesn't help more than having 2, and the graphics card barely matters at all apart from enhancements and such.

However- performance depends on the game (certain games bring even the best systems to their knees, some others run fast on almost anything) and overclocking your processor might help. So I suggest just grabbing some games and giving it a go. If it doesn't reach fullspeed in the games you want, try overclocking your processor a bit and see if it helps.

If it's still too slow, you're out of luck- you'd need to get a recent Intel CPU with a high clock speed (and a motherboard to go with it, of course).

i'm afraid you have to push it to 5.0GHz but still not fast enough for some demanding games

It should be fast enough for most games though
A10 6790k stock speed plays most games full speed (Xenoblade for an example)

I kinda of want to play the Rouge Squadron games and my copy of Killer 7 but I doubt that might not be happening!

the FX-8350 can play most games if you push it to like 4.8 or higher. Rogue Squadron 2/3 are the most demanding games out there for Dolphin, even some of the optimal CPUs have a hard time playing it. RS is a no-go for that system
Arch
Intel Core i7 - 4510U
iHD4400
8GB RAM
