I have a question regarding resolution. I have the resolution set at 1920x1080. Should I set the internal resolution to 3x? (I have a Radeon HD 7850 and have it set to OpenGL). I've been playing around with it a bit, but I'm not sure what settings to use to get the most out of my games. (Also, are there any settings I should change on my card itself?)

I tried playing Kirby at a few different settings and while it ran at 60fps, it had unusually dark shadows beneath objects.

You can set the IR to 3x as long as you don't notice the game slow down because of it. You'll probably get better results using the DX9 video backend, so try that too. Also, which Kirby game are you playing?
Asus Laptop: K53TA

3x IR is actually larger than 1080p, but it'll suit your resolution needs just fine. You could easily set it to 4x IR if you wanted to, just be careful when using SSAA on DX9; OpenGL and DX11's MSAA is less demanding, so you can usually raise them a good amount with high IRs with a GPU like yours.

The shadow issue with Kirby: Return to Dreamland is a known issue when using OpenGL. Try using one of the Direct3D backends (DX9 or DX11).

Thanks for the advice, guys. I will try DX9. It's nice to know what was causing that shadow issue. I'm playing Kirby's Return to Dreamland.
