To be quite honest am not sure if i am going to overclock my CPU. Am quite knew to it, and while i do know that it's probably the most easy CPU to overclock, and probably the best one, i am still not sure, specially with the fans and the tower i got.
New system not getting the best performance

If you have a good aftermarket CPU cooler (not the boxed cooler crap), a decent aftermarket thermal compound (e.g. Arctic Cooling MX-4) and a tower with a decent airflow, overlocking should be no problem.
Just make sure, that you don't raise the Vcore too high. And always check your temps. 06-15-2012, 12:19 AM
Will take a look into it, hopefully everything will be fine. Again thank you for helping me out !

Um, don't think the H61 supports real overclocking, not the kind Intel's unlocked -K chips are designed for. You'll need a new mobo to go with that aftermarket cooler, e.g. a P67 or a Z68.

Ah, i overlooked this. You're right, Shonumi.
But it's still possible to overlock the CPU even with H61 and other MoBo's BCLK (Well, 100MHz is normal, maximum is about 106, not very much - depends on the quality of the MoBo.) |
