I didn't even have to change my settings, New Super Mario Bros Wii runs perfectly at 1080p with anti-aliasing straight out of the box. However, as soon as I reach the first 'Fortress' in world 1, there is noticeable slow-down. It's hard to tell if this is just to be expected, my hardware or something in settings, but my computer is brand new with a very reliable GPU. Is it a common problem for other users?

Yeah, not to mention, even my top of the line Radeon HD 6950 2GB overclocked can have trouble with some games on Dolphin unfortunately (such as Sonic Colors), but, as it's New Super Mario Bros, I would assume that your GPU either is stressed by something else, doesn't have a good enough power supply to support it, OR its simply just not good enough to support the anti-aliasing you've set to use.
Rest in power, RachelB.

Interesting, without changing a thing, even normal levels are starting to lag up a bit. My specs are Core i7 2600k, GTX 570, 700watt PSU, P67 Extreme6 Mobo, etc, so I really don't think the hardware isn't capable enough. I'm using r7635. As for settings, well... tbh, I don't know what most of the more technical ones do, but:

Skip EFB isn't ticked.
EFB copies isn't disabled. Virtual and RAM are ticked.
External frame buffer is disabled.
Under 'other', nothing is ticked except 'Disable per-pixel depth'.

Anti-aliasing is only set to 4, as is anisotropic. Internal resolution is set to auto. No vertical syncing. Running at 1920x1080.

Is there anywhere to get a relatively untechnical explanation of what the EFB settings do? I'm pretty sure they're integral to getting some games running, but I never know what might help.
