Hello, I've got a question. How do I emulate custom NSMBW! levels? The ones made using the Reggie! editor? Is there some utility for patching? Do I have to burn Riivolution onto a disc or something? Everything from "their" end (meaning, the people making the levels) is about running it on an actual Wii with homebrew. Is there a different method when emulating?

There should be enough guides in the world wide web, just use google and you'll see

Sorry man I've already looked... I really can't find any answers! I tried using this tutorial;
http://www.wiihacks.com/other-faq-guides...ditor.html But I kind of knew what was going to happen. All that is replacing is a single stage... so when I try to load what I've got (it's the Newer Super Mario Bros. Summer pack or whatever, I'll link) it glitches, because I think it has custom objects, maps etcetera. So I get glitched graphics everywhere. http://www.newerteam.com/ I'm trying the "Newer Summer Sun" pack. I also looked at this youtube tutorial - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZZsDacW_v3k - but the thing with that is, he replaces the object with other ones, but with the objects I have, it really isn't obvious what I overwrite with them. 08-04-2012, 01:56 PM
Unfortunately, loading of all the new assets will just not work unless the devs reopen this issue and work on it:
http://code.google.com/p/dolphin-emu/iss...iivolution I consider this a pretty major thing and really hope they can do something with it. Newer SMBW is going to be maybe the best wii game ever and we won't be able to play it on Dolphin. I saw this also from the Dark Umbra forums: The Winter Holiday Special can possibly be made into an ISO but will suffer some minor glitches in doing so and at least 1 level will not work at all. The Summer Sun Special has much too much ASM coding which currently requires Riivolution to implement, therefore the game will have lots of major glitches and is not worth trying to build into an ISO. I suggest just using Riivolution to play the game. If you don't have an original disc, you're out of luck. Find a cheap used version somewhere on eBay or borrow a friend's disc for a while. When Newer Super Mario Bros Wii comes out, it will likely require an updated version of Riivolution to play and most definitely will not be able to be made into an ISO due to the extreme nature of changes to the game

Well it's always fun to see a post of yours quoted on another forum lol. Newer Super Mario Bros Wii has now been released and it does require Riivolution, but the current version (1.04) will suffice. As far as running it on Dolphin, you'd need to modify the main.dol with all the hacks that Riivolution normally patches into it on-the-fly. That's something for you to strive for. Might take a few months to learn everything you need to learn (decompiling the .dol, finding out how to access the actual hacks in Newer's .bin files, patching the memory addresses/offsets etc) but it can be done.
Now, off I go to play Newer on Dolphin (I already have a pre-patched .dol, and no, you can't have it) 11-13-2013, 09:35 PM
I found a way to play Newer: Summer Sun, Newer: Holiday Special, Another Super Mario Bros. Wii, Newer Super Mario Bros. Wii and a bunch of other hacks on Dolphin. Without complicated stuff or Riivolution or even a Wii. =P
