New Super Mario Bros Wii. controls not working

i need help setting up my controls for a wii remote. im trying to use my xbox one controller to play super mario bros wii and nothing works becides B. I set up all my controls and none of them work besides pausing the game. I would appreciate a response because i am very frustrated and would appreciate it if someone were to tell me which controls to use. i am very new to this. For example i cant start the game and i use A on the controller as 2 and when i press A, nothing happens.

You probably should reconfigure everything from the beginning onto one controller. It looks like there's a mixture of a bunch of different controls across several input devices on there. And some appear to be the old controller format and some appear to be newer.
