New rig, Win7 or Linux?

I'm in the process of building a new system:

Intel i7 980x 6-core (overclocking to 4.0-4.5Ghz)
ASUS Rampage III Extreme mobo
Zotac AMP Nvidia GTX 480
6Gb G.Skill Trident DDR3 2000hz memory
Crucial 256Gb SATA 6Gb/s SSD OS drive
Western Digital Caviar Black 1Tb SATA 6Gb/s storage drive
Dual Boot - Win7 Pro 64 and Ubuntu 10.04 64

Before anyone bothers - Yes I know Dolphin will not use more than 2 cores and yes I know most of these parts are most than needed to run Dolphin, but then I wouldn't spend $4500 on a glorified Gamecube. I play many games, emulated Gamecube games being a few of them.

Now on to my questions.

Which is better at speed and compatibility with dolphin, Win7 64 or Linux? and if Linux, 32 or 64 bit?

Also Would it cause any performance problems if I put dolphin on the main SSD drive and the disc images on the storage drive? They will be partitioned into 2 drives.

Thanks for any input.

Windows 7 x64 for Dolphin, Dolphin on Linux is more unstable and slow than on Windows.

OpenGL is about as fast as D3D meanwhile for what it's worth... some games run faster with d3d, some are faster with opengl.

'Animal Crossing: Let's go to the city' is faster on linux-64/opengl, compared to Win7-32/d3d on the same machine. OpenCL doesn't seem to make any difference. I'm using slackware 13.1.

Even the linux fans admit that dolphin is massively superior on win 7.

Yeah there's no comparison. There's better driver support for it (dx) and there's just more development for it. I say this having used both.
