Hello everyone, since I want to build a new pc in the near future, I wanted to know in which CPU and GPU I should invest.
My current pc specs are:
- Amd Ryzen 1700x
- Nvidia Gtx 1080ti
- Corsair Vengeance 16GB DDR4 @3200Mhz
Many games run great, but I have fps drops in games like super mario galaxy, the last story, xenoblade chronicles and the metroid prime series.
The metroid prime series is probably the worst case, since it dips almost in every area from 60 fps to 58 fps and the sound gets also distorted.
Practically I want a rig for emulation, to emulate yuzu, citra, and rpcs3 without having a bottleneck on the hardware side.
As for the GPU I am using 3Xnative resolution and 4XSSAA to render games, downsampling 4K practically.
At the first place I thought that the GPU is enough, or even an overkill but as soon as I started to play with shaders, filtering and texture packs, I realized that the GPU can't handle it all at once if I am using ubershaders on top of all that.
It can handle hybrid mode quite well, but if I enable that I get stutterings from time to time even after I reinstalled the nvidia driver.
The exclusive mode runs with every backend quite well for me, but only on lightweight games like mario party...
As for the hybrid mode, I am using it mainly with direct3D11.
I am grateful for every answer I get.
it just bothered me for a while, why I am getting drops on such games like metroid or the last story despite setting everything up carefully.
