The only reason why you would want to update is for developing for OpenGL 3.2.. but that's not really worth it either cause not many people have OGL3.2.
I am using an optimized driver from http://www.laptopvideo2go.com and it kicks ass. Can get 2-3 times fps in games by using that driver. No overclocking needed.

more like its license with intel is pooped and therefor they can't go on working on new chips & chipsets

that has nothing to do with the driver.

hell, look at the supported gpu's in the driver's list Wink

Adds GPU-acceleration for smoother online HD videos with the new Adobe Flash 10.1 beta. Learn more here.
Adds support for GeForce GT 240.
Adds support for OpenCL 1.0 (Open Computing Language) for all GeForce 8-series and later GPUs.
Adds support for CUDA Toolkit 3.0 features and performance enhancements. See CUDA Zone for more details.

I think those were just beta drivers. Anyway the first beta worked with Dolphin OpenCL, the second showed hardly anything onscreen, and now it seems to just crash on boot...
Specs: intel i5 3570k @ 3.4GHz;
