Having a discrete GPU or not would not make much of a difference. That cpu is simply too slow. Look at the clock rate. As previously stated U series processors have lower clock rates (which reduces performance) in order to reduce power consumption and heat. Since these smaller/thinner laptops have their cooling systems designed around the small amount of heat that these cpus put out overclocking them back up to normal speeds would not be a good idea and would just result in overheating even if you could do it (you can't, they are locked).
