Hey there Wink
Long story short: I'm writing up a new GUI for Dolphin, and I kinda noticed that our current icon set lacks quite a few icons...
That's why I'm asking if anyone around here feels like creating some new icons Wink

So, I'd like to have new icons for these things:
- GCPad settings (prolly just some picture of a purple/black/.. gc pad)
- Wiimote settings (some wiimote-like icon)
- Hotkey settings (maybe a single "Key" image; or a group of keys on a keyboard, with one key highlighted?)
- Visit Homepage (some "www" image, or some globe like the minefield logo)
- MemCard manager (some memcard image)
- optionally, other icons for any of the other menu options in Dolphin which don't have an icon, yet.

Obviously, you're free to design the icons differently, these are just suggestions from my side. You also don't need to create icons for ALL of the stuff mentioned above. The most important thing would be the gcpad and wiimote icons, since that's what people will see in the toolbar. Those two need to have a resolution of at least 48x48 as well (note that they'll show up in the menus as well though!). The other ones will only show up in the menus, so 32x32 or even 16x16 should be enough.

NOTE: However, I can't use just any icon. If I were able to do that, I could just fetch some icons from the net as well, but the icons need to fit into the style of the current icon set. I don't want to dictate anything, but better post some work-in-progress icons here and ask if it's going in the right direction than putting an insane amount of work in high-res icons which I can't accept for the reasons I mentioned.

For reference, here's a pic of my current toolbar layout, the four left icons might be replaced with the old Dolphin-icons though.

Awww this will probably end up removing the current alternative icon themes won't it :/
I've been using the KDE theme for years (pretty much since it's there), I never liked the default ones...

I didn't know people really used the theming capability oO

Anyway, this work is happening on GUI code written almost completely from scratch, the current wxWidgets GUI won't be affected. We'll just replace the default icons there with the new ones, the old ones will still be there.

(by the way, let's not get too much off-topic by discussing about the new GUI, thanks)

While this might serve as a starting point, it doesn't really fit the current icon set at all..

Maybe a more colorful icon? I'll try to find something that fits with current style...

And rounded edges. The one you provided had sharp edges, a colorized rounded gamecube logo should do the trick.

Yeah, the current design can probably be summarized by "round-edged, cartoonish, with a light source at the upper left" (the light source shouldn't matter too much, but the simple color-fill won't be enough; the icon will need to have a color gradient).
I just toyed around with the wiibrew memcard icon, and it's definitely possible to do something which works fine enough for the menu (as long as you don't fail as much at arts like me Tongue)
