I was surfing around the internet, and found an interesting news about a new Brazilian gaming console called "Zeebo".
Here are some pics:
My summary:
Zeebo is an upcoming 7th generation game console. Zeebo had been developed by Brazilian companies Tectoy and Qualcomm, and was launched in Brazil on May 25, 2009 for R$499,00. Zeebo is aimed at growing middle-class in developing countries such as Brazil, Russia, and India. Because of increasing video game piracy, Zeebo does not have physical game media including DVD or CD, but offers online downloadable games. Using a network similar to that of mobile phones, Zeebo will allow players to download video games by having them pay Z-Credits through 3G or Edge. Z-Credits are purchased by bank transfer or credit card. Instead of releasing its own games, Zeebo offers previous games including Resident Evil 4, Street Fighter Alpha, and Prey. Zeebo's worldwide release is to be dated.
I don't think this new console will even stand a chance against the mighty Xbox360, PS3, and Wii. Well, who knows if Zeebo makes an unexpected result?
