Hello all,

Im planning on upgrading my pc soon and I want a core i7 920 D0 stepping wich i'll probably overclock... I was wondering how it fares compared to the E8400 in emulation for the Dolphin emulator?

Thanks

get an 860 instead, they are cheaper and faster.

Oh, and this belongs in the off topic forum.

While Intel 860 is faster (because of default higher clocks), its for socket 1156 that have no future, unlike socket 1366 that will have 6 core cpus next year.
Anyway if you simply planning upgrade for dolphin then 860 will do the job Smile

If you live near a Micro Center, you can get a Core i7 920 for $199.99, quite a steal considering the retail price.

860s are slower and more expensive in canada, so no. 930 is stupid because it's just half a multi higher, so just save the cash and get a 920

i just got an i5 750 . With turbo boost it overclocks itself to 3.2ghz . more than enough to run any game at full power. Its even to fast sometimes.
