New builds + old HLE?

Heya guys,

I've got a question concerning the new AX-HLE stuff... nope, I don't want to rant or hear reasons for why this was necessary
Yet the thing is, before (i.e. up until 3.5-1124) I could play most games nicely or even perfectly. Now, with newer versions of Dolphin, most games have annoying skips. And because I won't have the means to buy a new pc in the near future, I fear I'm stuck with 3.5-1124 and cannot enjoy the benefits of recent development.

My question is: Is there someone who makes Dolphin builds which are up-to-date but keep the old HLE? (I don't even know if that's technically possible, just asking)

No. That would be insanely complex if not impossible. I understand your position, but you'll have to choose between better hardware, turning down settings to achieve full performance, or running an older, less accurate, but faster version.

Oh well, I guess I'll just have to stick to good ol' 3.5-1124 then... :/

To elaborate, some of the fixes applied in newer versions are because of or built upon the new AX-HLE. So it is theoretically possible to cherry-pick certain bugfixes and backport them to pre AX-HLE, but major features that were added such as netplay would require a monster ton of work and would then have to be maintained separately. I won't speak for everyone, but I'm sure as hell not going to do it.

You and me both (and I also have a Q6600, but nothing near as OC'd as yours!)
The way I see it, the new HLE just means that the minimum system requirements for Dolphin went up and my computer longer meets them.
Thankfully 3.5-1124 isn't going to magically disappear and it works tolerably well with the small set of games I choose to emulate with it.
