Hi there community of Dolphin

I'm new in here, so first of all hello there, and welcome for me to Dolphin Forums.

I have to report this:

I know that's discussed before but now it's very important since it's a regression: the message "Jump target too far away, needs force5Bytes = true" shows again in new versions of Dolphin Emulator since Dolphin 5.0-15445 and newer, but not in Dolphin 5.0-15262 (where it doesn't happen).

This message affects a bunch of the emulated GameCube and Wii games, but also Wii homebrew (specifically, the most affected by this is Not64, where i know Dolphin can emulate it).

In old version of Dolphin 5.0-15262 (on Windows x64), Not64 loads and runs fine and i can load N64 roms on here, save/load states, reset the emulated game and other things, but on Dolphin 5.0-15445 and newer versions it now crashes in the message "Jump target too far away, needs force5Bytes = true", and when i click in "No" Dolphin crashes instantly, causing it to close, when i click in "Yes" or "Not now", it actually lets me play but i can't load another ROM or save/load states.

Tried with latest development Dolphin builds but still occurs that error message. Sad

I will leave some other links of affected games by this message of force5Bytes = true:

https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-jump-target-too-far-away-needs-force5bytes-true (Soul Calibur 2, GCN)
https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-warioworld-force5bytes-true (Wario World, GCN)
https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-dolphin-keeps-crashing--35688 (DKC Returns, Wii)

Can you fix that regression for latest development builds please? Sad

Thanks Smile

Could you try to track down the exact development it started happening in? That way it would be much easier for us to find the cause.

Alternatively, tell us how to trigger this (or post a stacktrace of the error message in question). I tried running Not64 but as far as I can tell it doesn't even boot in Dolphin.

It happens in Dolphin 5.0-15445 and newer development versions, but NOT in Dolphin 5.0-15262
I'm using Windows 10 x64

Not64 works for me in Dolphin. Just set the audio recompiler to DSP LLE, turn on MMU, use JIT recompiler, allow Dolphin to insert & write into the SD card.
Also check your Graphics settings, the Texture Cache has to set to "Safe" and not in "Fast", turn off al EFB settings, turn off the "Store XFB copies as read-only", and that's all.
Forgot to say, that i'm booting Not64 from a forwarder WAD made for that app which is compatible with AHBPROT (just google it), since it doesn't work correctly when booted from HBC or directly from its boot.dol file.
Also, you have to put all the required files of Not64 to have put in the virtual SD card (sd.raw) before launching (ImDisk is your friend)

Thanks for the detailed instructions, I got it booting.

https://github.com/dolphin-emu/dolphin/pull/10275 should fix it.

Just downloaded that new build of Windows x64 with that fix of my error which is based in Dolphin 5.0-15605.
Now the message of force5bytes = true doesn't show anymore.

Thanks a lot!!
