Netplay - LAN host w/ Traversal server

Hey all,

Looking for a little guidance here. My goal is to have a machine on my LAN host a Netplay session which will allow external parties along with other clients on my LAN to join.

I am able to have 2 machines from my LAN join an external host.

Even if there is no built-in method to get this done, I'd like to understand how connections to the traversal server work better so I can try some networking workarounds.

Is the limitation that the host and client are on the same Public IP? is it a routing/port issue?

I did try connecting the 2nd machine on my LAN to a off-site VPN and routing net traffic through a proxy there, but this did not work.

Any help with this would be most appreciated.

Thanks!

If you know how to port forward type ipconfig in command prompt. People on your lan connect to your ipv4 (192.168.x.x). External connect to what google tells you when you type what is my ip.

Thanks for the reply. I should have mentioned that I assumed direct IP connect wold work. The goal however is to get it to work using the traversal server to make connections from people I am playing online seamless.

Thanks!
