I know that it's often being said that the emulated wiimote is unstable in netplay, but since there I tested it on several computers (x86 and x64) and several latest dolphin builds (dev and master) and I also tried modyfiying all kinds of settings and syncing the dolphin data folders, but everytime I try to use an "emulated wiimote" in NetPlay it crashes or desyncs on startup (also tried around 20 different games, same files on both computers). Also it works great if I only set it to gamecube controller (does not desync, but I need wiimote to play), so the graphics configurations are probably fine. Is there any known configuration for the emulated wiimotes to work in any build, or is it not ready yet?

[NetPlay] Game crash on emulated wiimote

UPDATE: After a lot of testing, I found out, that the NetPlay works great if both players use GCpads or if 1 player uses a GCpad and the other one a wiimote! As soon as I assign a wiimote to the other player too, dolphin crashes instantly. This probably means that all DSP and video setting are ok, but there seems to be a problem with the emulated wiimotes. Help is much appreciated.

I dunno, Wiimote netplay seems weird right now. I haven't tested it in a while.

Seems like maybe your wiimote settings aren't the same for both wiimotes? They can't be different at all. Notably, the default extension for wiimote 1 is nunchuck, but none for wiimote 2. 01-11-2014, 10:03 AM
Thanks, that did the trick. Still, I think it's a bit weird for everyone to be forced to use the same type of wiimote.
Yeah, getting wiimotes to work at all was a big pain in the ass for a couple of reasons. Unfortunately there's really no good solution to allow you to use different extensions. Sorry.
