I've been googling this for a couple hours and all the results were just filled with unsolved/ignored forum threads and redirects to the unhelpful dolphin wiki page on netplay. But apparently a lot of other people have this same problem, and I haven't even begun to found an explanation for why it happens. I can host a netplay session easily, but those who try to click 'connect' - the button does nothing at all. The button highlights for a couple seconds as if it's loading something, but after those few seconds, nothing at all, as if the button wasn't pushed in the first place. Clicking the button repeatedly very quickly returns the error that there's already a Netplay session running, but there isn't. This also happens when the other person hosts. I am unable to connect and the same problem with the button not doing anything happens. The part that bothers me is that there's just no response whatsoever. No error message, it just doesn't...do anything, so I don't know what I need to do to make it work. Things I've tried that did not work:
-Traversal Servers
-Direct Connection (forwarding my ports and all that)
-Changing all kinds of recommended settings/configs, as well as using the defaults
-Making a firewall exception for Dolphin, on both computers
All these guides (from previous years, at least, before 5.0 came out) suggest older versions are the best for Netplay, but I don't want to go around switching a million versions only to get the same issue again. Is using a different version worth a shot though? I know I'm not the only person who has had this problem, can someone try to guide me in the right direction?
