Netplay Black Screen

Hey all, I'm new to Netplay & Dolphin in general so be nice. My friend and I are attempting to play some various GameCube games over NetPlay (using the traversal server) and we can connect to lobbies just fine. The problem arises when either he (as host) or I (as host) attempt to start the game. The game opens for the host, but stays in a black screen. Then, after some time, the other person in the lobby times out and gets disconnected. All of our settings are the same. We have tried setting our "enable dual core" to both enabled and disabled for various games, such as: Super Smash Brothers Brawl, Mario Party 7, and Mario Kart Double Dash.

Some relevant information may be: The games are the same ISO file. The settings are the same on both computers. When the other player times out, and the host hits "quit netplay" the game starts up normally, except in the top right corner in yellow writing it says that "wiimote 1 disconnected" and "wiimote 2 disconnected" etc, all the way to wiimote 4. Then the game proceeds to start up normally. Also, the game starts up fine with netplay if only one player is in the lobby. The game only doesn't start if there is more than one player in the netplay lobby.

Specs:
- Windows 10 x64
- AMD FX 6300 3.5 GHz
- MSI GTX 960 2gb
- 8gb RAM
- Dolphin version 5.0

Hi, if I was unclear, nobody is using wiimotes. I am using a standard controller, whereas my friend is using a WiiU adapter. Should I still try the newest dev build?

I think you should download a new build, make a portable, and configure it from the ground up. It really sounds like someone has a bad setting on that's trying ot be synced over netplay and it's causing it to crash.

Hello, thanks for your reply! We have tried the dev build (5.0-5730) and the issues still persist. I have noticed now, however, that he is unable to join lobbies easily. For us to be able to join the same lobby correctly, he or I have to host numerous different lobbies and or attempt to join many times before being able to connect. On the regular build, he joins but is then disconnected after a short while. During this time, he does appear in the netplay connected players bar but his ping is always 2. Then he times out. We can tell that he has actually joined for real because his ping is a normal amount (30-60), at which point we attempt to start the game and mine (host) game starts, but his does not. On the dev build, however, when he joins his ping is a massive amount (greater than two billion, lol). Then he times out. Similar to the regular build, he is able to connect after a bunch of tries, but the game does not actually start.

I'm concerned this has something to do with his network. Could there be an issue there? We have the exact same settings, and the same settings works with my other friend who we also try to play games with. Him and the other friend can connect no problem, whereas he cannot. The one not being able to connect also is the only one using a WiiU adapter versus a standard controller.

Any help is appreciated, we are open to trying different things.
