I have often see people with problems with forwarding,
And most of the time the thing was that the router needed to be rebooted/restarted,

So you might wanna try that,
Also a problem i have had a few times was a firmware problem as a bug in the firmware would simply not allow any connections,
Even when the port was forwarded so you should first try to restart and then a firmware update if there is any.

I recommend the restart before the firmware update as firmware updates dont always fix but also have a chance of breaking your router.. in some odd cases only though.

1 - Forward to 192.168.1.1 from your "modem" (or whatever your router's IP is).
2 - Forward to 192.168.1.x (your PCs IP). Set your PC up with a static LAN IP or you'll have to redo the port forwarding on your router every time your PC gets a new address through DHCP.

So Internet->Modem->Router->PC. Don't try and forward directly from the modem to your PC, the router won't pass the packets through.
