I found a laptop on amazon: Lenovo IdeaPad Y500

it has:
3rd generation Intel® Core™ i7-3630QM processor
Windows 8
15.6” Full HD display (1920 x 1080), 16:9 widescreen
NVIDIA® GeForce® GT650M 2GB discrete graphics
8GB DDR3 memory, 1TB HDD storage
Integrated Bluetooth® & high-speed 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi
USB 2.0, USB 3.0 connectors & 6-in-1 card reader
Integrated DVD reader/writer drive
Integrated 720p HD webcam
Dolby® Home Theatre v4 audio enhancement & JBL® designed speakers
HD graphics support & HDMI output
Backlit keyboard

would it be powerful enough to play mostly super smash bros melee/brawl and zelda gc games?

also, would it be good to emulate ps2?

Outdated hardware...
Get a lenovo Y510P with i7 4700MQ + Nvidia GT 750M instead , it's much faster
Or buy a true gaming / slim laptop :
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834152406
Please note that Dolphin doesn't support SLi/ crossfire . Therefore , GT 750M SLI < GTX 765M
MSi gaming laptop is a much better value

You should not buy laptop atm . Lenovo will release single GT 750M + i7 4700MQ laptop later . The 750M SLI lenovo cost $1150 , the single 750M lenovo should be around 800-$1000
Edit : Found it here

GT 750M is faster than GTX 660M , you should not waste money on the weaker GPU - GT 650M

Just to check, you need a laptop because you need a laptop, and not because you need a computer, and someone told you you may as well get a laptop? If you'd be fine with a desktop instead, it would turn out a mixture of much more powerful and much cheaper.
OS: Windows 10 64 bit Professional
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5900X
RAM: 16GB
GPU: Radeon Vega 56

Well... I don't need a laptop or a computer. I already have a laptop. It works great for ocasional game and working. My main purpose is play dolphin on a laptop so i can use it as a mobile gamming system.

I'm aware a desktop can be more powerful than a laptop for less money but I always wanted/been curious to run dolphin on a laptop and play some of my wii games there.

You'll quickly get aware that it ain't as easy as you could think Big Grin . Depends on which games you're gonna play
