Here's what I've narrowed it down to so far:
Silverstone Raven Z Evolution: https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B01ECDWI3M/_encoding=UTF8?coliid=I22Q7RY71AH1TL&colid=WP5HWCZB1RBX

Corsair Obsidian 250D: https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B00HFRTF5W/_encoding=UTF8?coliid=I2FNZYXZ80S6FT&colid=WP5HWCZB1RBX
Fractal Design Node 304 : https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B009LHF4FO/_encoding=UTF8?coliid=I1Y46E14FOI2XB&colid=WP5HWCZB1RBX
Fractal Design Nano S: https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B01BEH1YMA/_encoding=UTF8?coliid=I5G46KBEE0JBO&colid=WP5HWCZB1RBX
Cougar QBX: https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B00ZV5YKY6/_encoding=UTF8?coliid=I1RTUJUWNMWXT1&colid=WP5HWCZB1RBX

Feel free to make additional suggestions or win me over on one of these. I can't decide because quite frankly they all meet my criteria perfectly and the "little quirks" are often not listed anywhere in the product description. Reading detailed reviews from multiple sources on each one of them would take hours and I ideally want to purchase one no later than this weekend.  Anyone have any experience with any of them or any recommendation?

After 5 years I'm finally pulling the trigger on some PC upgrades.  Already bought everything else but can't decide on a case.  For anyone curious:
Ryzen 1700 ($250)
Asrock B350 Mini-itx ($95)
8GB DDR4 3000 MHz RAM ($75)
EVGA GTX 1060 3GB ($180)
Total cost:  $600 on newegg

Decided I wanted this build to be small and power efficient.  Thus the 65w cpu, 120w GPU, and mini-itx board.  AMD GPUs were out of the question due to power consumption and current prices being too high.  Decided on ryzen over Intel (despite inferior dolphin performance) mainly due to the motherboard prices being significantly cheaper plus better sales for ryzen cpus right now.  Won't be quite as fast for games or emulators but it will help me do streaming (GPU live transcoding is still pretty noticeably inferior in quality to software encoding).  The GTX 1060 3GB has excellent bang for your buck for 1080p gaming but frametimes will choke at 1440p due to running out of vram (note that framerate will still be ok but frametimes are far more important).  The main reason graphics cards are so expensive right now are the GDDR5/5X shortages causing higher vram prices.  So by using only 3GB nvidia has managed to make a product using modern memory at a decent price.

I don't want to spend another $75-100 on a new SFX PSU when my current ATX PSU (OCZ modextreme 650 watt) works just fine thus the need for a mini-itx case that supports a full size ATX PSU.

Also going to finally pull the trigger on VR with an oculus rift which is currently on sale for $350.  I doubt PC VR will get much cheaper than this anytime soon.

You probably are aware of this trick, but, when we were thinking about building a mini-ITX builder server we ran into similar problems! Youtube was fantastic for this though! Once we narrowed it down to a select few cases we wanted, we were able to find build videos of users who already built in it, and that gave us a lot of information on their quirks.

For example, the Node 202 can actually support an H100i v2! But it requires some case modifications (cutting space for the water tubes to pass through) and it requires going without a dedicated GPU. Both of which were honestly fine with us, since it was for a build machine!

...though in the end we just decided to reuse an old workstation laptop to save money. I mean, we did just build an 8700k system and are buying a new laptop now soo.... But um yea, youtube!

Yup.

Some are good but I find most unboxing videos to be...well...terrible. 30+ minutes of some guy very....slowly....talking.....about.....pointless......unrelated.....things, also shaky cam. Pre-scripted dialogue and proper camera setups do wonders for these types of videos. The best ones are those made by actual full time video bloggers/shows/studios/etc. but those don't tend to cover anything but the most popular models due to trying to maximize views from limited production time.
