Trying to play Super Smash Bros Brawl multiplayer and my controller controls 2 players at once. According to the game's wiki, the solution is to "To migrate controls to use separate physical controllers". What does that mean? How do i "migrate"?
Need Controller Map Overlap help!

In the controller settings, you can change the controller type dropdown for one of the two controllers to None so that that controller won't be used, or change the Device dropdown in the Configure window for one of the controllers so it uses a device that isn't already in use by another controller. I'm not sure why the wiki uses that complicated wording...

I'm not sure why the wiki uses that complicated wording... Thank you so much. However, while changing it to "none" does work in the configuration menu, that means whenever I boot up a separate GC game, then the controller doesn't work for GC games so I'd have to go back in the config and change it back every time. Not so ideal if using a separate front end. But I did find a working solution with your core idea. I simply made a per game config for Brawl with the values: [Controls] PadType0 = 0 PadType1 = 0 This disables the GC controllers for only Brawl allowing me to use 2 Wii controllers correctly (without dual control) and then be able to boot up a GC game and still have those two controllers working as GC mapped pads globally. And yeah, that wiki is extremely poorly worded. Not sure what they were thinking. lol |
