So obviously newer builds are expected to be unstable at times and may cause problems but fix others at the same time. I've been keeping track of the recent automatically compiled builds and noticed something weird.

Starting with build 3.5-1067, the description read "Mark the Direct3D9 backend deprecated."

Back the truck up, as far as I recall, the Direct3D9 backend was reported as being the most reliable/stable to use. Am I going crazy or is it really going to be deprecated? I was under the impression that other backends caused more issues than the fixed. Could someone back me up on this? Not trying to sound noobish, I'm confused and need clarification. Again, I read on the FAQ and various posts on this forum that D3D9 is stabler than D3D11.

Here's a (far from exhaustive) list of issues that happen only with the DX9 backend. This backend also does not support several features that we want to use to improve DX11 and GL, and has 0 interest from the active developers (though rodolfo seems to have come back to make a few changes to it since the depreciation...). We simply don't have the will nor the time to maintain this backend.

Yikes....I had no idea the backend was so problematic....but now I know. Sorry to waste your guys' time. Sad
