Hi to all,

I'm rather bored with my BB Storm. its a decent phone but for a blackberry, it rather sucks. My original Curve was great until the trackball went. (easy fix). The storm was good for a few months but progressively got slower due to the memory upkeep and lack of decent firmware upgrades in crucial areas. Not to mention, i just miss having a physical keyboard. So what do you guys recommend for a phone? I have Verizon and would preferably like to stay with them.

the env3 seems rather boring. I do like the HTC Touch Pro 2. I'm just curious as to how the OS is. I don't want it to run fine one day then become slow as hell the next. What do you guys think? Ideas? recommendations?

You didn't specify where you live so I don't know if these phones are available on verizon. Although you can always opt for unlocked if verizon supports gsm in your area.

My first recommendation would be nokia n900. This smartphone will wipe the floor with any other smartphone as far as performance and capability are concerned, but it cost a lot (over $700) and I think it's only available in europe for now. It has ARM Cortex A8 in so you can run it up to about 1ghz in speed without it heating up much. The slide out full qwerty keyboard is an awesome bonus. (check out http://maemo.org/downloads/OS2008/ for the currently available apps)

I would secondly recommend the palm pre. It's shaping up to be a really nice platform. Palm has an app store like the Iphone, but also allow app distribution outside of it. They also offer free hosting for any open source app. Plus the pre is backwards compatible with all the previous palm os(garnet os 5.4 and below) so you can run all the old palm stuff (LJP ftw. Loved that multi-system emu on my treo 680).

My third recommendation would be any android based phone except the g1. Also stay away from anything windows mobile(gawd that os is terrible).
