Hey,

In hope of fixing some of our issues with the forums, I bit the bullet and finally upgraded it from 1.6.x to 1.8.x. Of course, this broke a ton of stuff, and I basically spent the last two hours deep in CSS and Javascript to make it work as it should.

There are probably still tons of things broken. Can you guys make a nice list here so I can get to them when I have some cycles?

Thanks,

One little thing that is broken is the favicon, it shows the old one.

That's your cache, try to ctrl+f5 or just wait a few days and it should fix itself.

Well, I tried a few times to ctrl+F5 before posting and it didn't work. After clearing the Firefox cache it shows the new logo.

Probably only applicable to Forum Staff but soft deletes are somewhat annoying. Not necessarily a bug, but it's hard to tell that a post has been soft-deleted unless you happen to notice the little "Restore" button. Personally, I'd rather have permanent deletes like before, but this isn't a big deal by any means. I'll just have to read things more carefully from now on if soft deletes can't/won't be disabled. If soft-deleted posts could be less visible (i.e. barely show up at all, unless clicked or something) that would be the best of both worlds.

Some user statuses seem to be a bit broken now. For example neobrain's is supposed to say "Wow, I made my code 1000x faster! That means I can make it 2048x slower now!" but instead it says "Wow, I made my code 1000x faster! That means I can make it 2048x slower now!"

The Yourname, Options, and Messages dropdowns are not longer... well, dropdowns. Mousing over does nothing, and clicking them just goes to the main pages as usual.

Also, were the lines between threads (or alternating colored rows, whatever it was) in forum lists (example) removed as part of the update, or is that a bug? I've ctrl-F5ed multiple times and they are still gone.

Spoiler: (Show Spoiler)
If it is relevant, I'm using Chrome on OS X Yosemite.

Yeah, we're missing one style for greyed out messages. Do you have a link to a soft-deleted post so I don't have to delete a random one for testing? Tongue
