you need to choose run git from the command line (middle option) when installing msysgit, if you are uncertain, open cmd.exe and run git. either it will show usage for git, or say 'git is not recognized as an internal or external command...". If it does not show the usage, rerun the msysgit installer and choose the middle option and test again.
