Are my PC specs good enough to run any GC and Wii game smoothly (provided it's stable in Dolphin of course)?
Additionally, with the newest version of Dolphin what sort of settings could I apply in the emulator for a nice experience?
Thank you for your help!

CPU: i5-4690k (Stock)
RAM: 8 GB 1600 Mhz
GPU: MSI R9 280 Gaming
I also have an SSD if if makes a difference to run it from there and a HDD.

Oh, absolutely. For maximal performance just OC that processor of yours for a free boost. It's stable at like 4.5 for a first-timer. The 4690k is one of the best CPUs out there for Dolphin.

Intel Core i7 - 4510U

I would OC but my cooling isn't the best. I think when I OCED to 4.5 ghz. it would go up to 77 degrees under a stress test which is okay, but while gaming (playing stuff like TF2) it would hit 70 degrees. That freaked me out a bit since that's pretty high...
What about other settings like the internal resolution ?

70C is fine. And what do you mean by settings like the IR, like how high can you raise them? Probably somewhere from 4-6x with that GPU

Yeah that's what i meant by the IR. I could go up to 6x IR with this GPU? Seriously? That's pretty cool.

4.5 only hitting 77 on a stress test ?

You my friend have a 1% chip, some amazing cooling, a dodgy thermometer or a very sympathetic stress test.

That i5 can easily run at 80 all day without any problems.

Okay you guys have convinced me to try ocing again. I'm currently trying 4.5 ghz at 1.176V. I'll have to stress test to verify stability. I ran a quick graphics bench and it was fine, I usually use x264 and aida64 to stress test my cpu. It was stable before at 1.212.

Devils canyon chips hit about 4.5 pretty easy, it is when you go higher that they start to run into trouble, at least for my 4790k that was how it was.
Never broke 60c unless I got my 2 290x's blowing into the case.

Are my voltages good for 4.5ghz? Or could I go lower? Does having a higher clock really speed up dolphin?

Having a higher clock speed will definitely speed up Dolphin, but bear in mind that you can probably play most games at 100% atm without any enhancements, so OC isn't vital.
