I did indeed have problems with TP when attempting to play on the latest Dev release yesterday. It slowed down in Twilight Realm, and in the rescue Colin mission. I noted OpenGL worked a tad better, but do these patches you mentioned address all slowdowns?

CPU overheating doesn't seem to be an issue. Even running at 2x, my CPU never passed 50%.
My rig:
ASUS ROG G752VY-DH78K
Windows 10 x64 (Build 1511)
Intel Core i7 6820HK 2.7GHz (8MB cache, up to 3.60GHz)
Nvidia GeForce GTX 980m 8GB GDDR5
64GB DDR4 RAM
